The Royal Humane Society, which meets at Christchurch, has hacl under further consideration the case of F. W. Packard, who was rescued from drotvning in Wellington harbour in December, 1900. For his work in rescuing Packard, W. T. Sliim was presented with a silver medal, but it has been urged that J.
