It is pci naps not generally known that the British Premier is a lineal descendant of King Robert the Bruce of Scotland. In the time of David 11. Robert Glen married Margaret Bruce, styled in a charter of that monarch “tho King’s sister." Marriott©, daughter and heiress of Sir John Glen of Balmjuto, descended from the above marriage, and married Sir John Boswell, who then became the first of Balmuto. Their daughter married John Hallcet, fourth Baron of Pitfirran, and their daughter married Alexander Broun of Sauchie and Finderlie. Their descendant, Robert Broun of Finderlie, married Katherine Douglas of Kinneston, a cadet of Lochleven and their daughter married Sir Michael Arnot of that ilk, baronet, whose second daughter, Aniia (temp. Charles I.) married George Balfour, first Lord of Balbirnie, from which the present Laird of Whittingliame is descended.
