A GENERAL SURVEY OF ODDS AND ENDS. White kid gloves may be made to look nearly new if put on the hand and robbed equally all over with clean indiarubber. . If the mould in which a ptudding is to bo baked is well buttered and sprinkled with breadcrumbs, the pudding Avill turn out quite easily. A very small quantity of carbonate of soda stirred into milk or cream that is slightly turned will restore it immediately to sweetness. To prevent shoes from making boles in the heels of stockings, it is a good plan to sew a piece of wash leather inside the heels of the shoes. This will insure the shoes from rubbing the feet and will also make them fit better. To prevent table salt from becoming hard, when crushing it add to every pound one tablespoonful of • cornflour. Keep* it in a jar in a dry place, and it will always be smooth and soft. A good way of using up old woollen, shawls and pieces of flannel is to cut them up into small pieces and use them as a filling for cushions. This is an excellent substitute for flock and equally soffe.
