The plans have been prepared for the new laboratory to be erected for the Veterinary Division of the Agricultural Department at V allacoville. The building will he on one floor, and will measure GOft frontage by 42ft. It will be in red brick, with a roof of Marseilles tiles. Accommodation will be provided as follows: —Chief "\ oterinarian’s and Assistant Chief Veterinarian’s rooms, each 16ft by 10ft; laboratory, 32ft by lGft; general office, 18ft by 16ft; students’ room, 16ft by 16ft; kitchen and scullery, lavatories, -etc. The building will have overhanging eaves and a steep-pitched roof. Special attention has been paid to the matter of ventilation. Besides the ordinary doors fly-proof doors are being provided. The building will be plastered throughout, and will be made in such a manner that it can be easily kept clean. The students’ room is for the accommodation of cadets in the department and others who may be preparing for the woi'k of meat iuspeo tion. Tenders will shortly be called for the erection of the building.
