Our Palmerston North correspondent Elites: —At the Terrace End School on Wednesday the school flag was unfurled, and the tablet in memory of ex-scholars-who fought in South Africa was unveiled. Mr Bridge, chairman of the Wanganui Education Board, addressed the scholars and parents, of whom there was a large gathering, aud called upon Master Percy Yoight. the oldest scholar in the school, to hoist the flag. Three hearty cheers were then given, for the King. At the unveiling. of the tablet an address was delivered hv Mr H. Hayden, in which he explained the .circumstances under which the tablet had been erected, and asked the scholars to give it protection respect. Mr Bridge unveiled the tablet, and also delivered an appropriate speech. The gathering concluded with cheers for the lads whoso names are recorded on the memorial
