The petition from settlers cf tho Maungaraki district, asking for a school, is to be considered at the next meeting of the Board of Education. Mr F. Bradey, the acting-chairman of the Board and Mr T. R. Fleming, Inspector of’Schools, have visited the district to inquire into the facts of the ease. The land, which was recently acquired by the Government for workmen’s homes, lies near the hills opposite the Petone Railway Station.
