Association that it had fixed the 11th, 12th and, 13th of November, as the dates of its annual show. The rules of the Association provide that the Palmerston ■: show/ shall bo held during the week following the Canterbury show, and if this rule is observed the local, dates should be fixed for the 18th, 19th arid 20th' of Nbyeniber, but the committee decided nof to conie.to a definite determination until' fiext iuneeting.- The opinion was freely expressed that it; would : he less injurious to the association to clash with i Christchurch thaii .-it would be; to come into conflict with other associations on -this coast; such as - Wanganui and Hawera. Mr P. It is understood that ■ when the repqrt of the sub-committee was brought dowu it was not adopted, j a difficulty having arisen in connection , Avith the finances. It had beeu found -that there were not- sufficient funds to carry -out the builumg programme of - the sub-committees. . The privilege concessions as recommended were also objected to, - so that practically, the position is as it was a month ago,, and the prospect of a winter show being held liore is very remote. T .
