NEW ZEALAND KENNEL CLUB

■ The annual report to be submitted to the meeting of the New Zealand Kennel Club next Friday in Wellington by its president (Mr R. E. Bannister) states that there are now twenty affiliated bodies, the majority of which show a lively interest in the doings of the club. During the year two clubs were struck off the roll and two new ones affiliated. A new departure, which is proving successful, has been made in appointing yub-connnittees to deal with the various objects of the club. The club now has a Schedule Committee, whose duty it is to revise all schedules before being issued; "a Vigilance Committee, who keep a supervising eye on all shows that are held; and a Stud Book Committee, whose special duty is the revision and passing of all entries in the stud book. The club had occasion during the year to disqualify two dogs for breaches of itules and regulations by their owners. It was also necessary to disqualify all dogs shown at one show not held under the club’s rules. The society, however, subsequently applied for affiliation, and waa admitted, and the disqualifications at once removed. It is hoped that soon a new arrangement will be made regarding the official organ of the dub, and that in future all registrations, transfers, etc., will bo officially notified from time to time m the* organ. A sub-committee has thoroughly revised the rules of the club, which will be submitted for consideration and adoption at- the annual meeting. The account for the year just closed leaves the club with a profit of £3 12s 2d. which has been carried to the 'general fund, leaving a total of £7G 15s 2c! to the credit of the club. Of this sum. £39 10s is outstanding bj various dubs. Messrs TV. R. Morris (president). J. Osburne-Lilly (bon secretary; and J. Rennie, who were enthusiastic members of the club, have r& " signed.
