DOWNFALL IN NEW SOUTH WALES. BREAK-UP OF THE DROUGHT. RELIEF FOR STOCK AND PASTORALISTS. SYDNEY, August 21. Relief has at last come to a large portion of the drought-stricken areas. Useful rains have fallen in (he nortnwestern districts and along tne Queensland border, and lighter over the Riverina and tho coasLul and at Bourke. Over an inch and a half wfcs registered at many stations, and over the Darling river country there are equalrecords. It is still raining. Hie good news was received with much rejoicing in the city. In the Legislative Assembly the Premier (Sir John See) said the Assembly would jom with him in expressing devout thankfulness to Almighty God for the rainfall, which meant the saving of much wealth and the alleviation of much suffering.
