TENDERS FOR MAIL STEAM SEEYICE BETWEEN WELLINGTON AND MOTUEKA. General Post Office, Wellington, 16th August, 1902. QEPARATE TENDERS will he received at the General Post Office, Wellington until noon of Tuesday, the 30th September, 1902, for the performance of one of the following mail steam services between Wellington and Motueka for the period of one year, from the Ist November nest to the 31st October, 1909, namely—1. A weekly service each way from the Ist November to the 31st May, and a fortnightly service between the Ist June and the 31st October. 2. An alternative service, each way twice weekly from the 20th December to the end of February, weekly from the Ist March to the 30th June, fortnightly from the Ist July to 19th December; or, 3. A service three times a fortnight from the- 20th December to the end of February, once a week from the Ist March to the *-30th June, and fortnightly, from the Ist July to the 19th December. Motueka is to be the final port of departure of the steamer on the voyage ta Wellington. The service to be performed by a steamer of not less than 75 tons register, with a maximum draught of 7ft and capable cf steaming not less than, eight knots an hour. The vessel's hold or holds to be suitably ventilated, .to th* satisfaction , of the Postmaster-General, for the stowage and carriage of fruit. Tenderers are required to state the rates to he charged for passengers, for fruit, agricultural, garden and dairy produce of all descriptions, and general merchandise Tenders, to be indorsed ‘Tenders for Wellington-Motueka Mail Service," must be made on the printed form of inland-mail tender (which may be obtained at any Chief Post Office), and addressed to the Secretary, General Post Office, Wellington. ■ “ Names,' tonnage and horse-power of steamers proposed to be used to be stated.
