LONDON, August 20. On being interviewed, Mr Seddon was enigmatical in his replies regarding the recent statement by Mr W. T. Stead in the “Review of Reviews.” suggesting that Mr Seddon intended to lead the Labour party on the Rand, and hinting that he was tempted by the terms of Mr Rhodes’s will to aspire to the first Premiership of a South African federation. Mr Seddon remarked “ Time would prove,” and added: “Nobody is justied or authorised to say that I renounce New Zealand to reside in Capetown.” LONDON, August 20. Mr Seddon is visiting Hull, in Yorkshire. He intends to visit other towns.
