The second moonlight cycle excursion to Kilbirnie, which took place last evening, proved a most enjoyable outin g> despite a rather strong northerly wind. Over six hundred cyclists assembled in front of the General Post Office, and Sir Joseph Ward, before the enthusiasts formed in procession, made a few remarks on the benefits of cycling. When the party arrived at Kilbirnie, which was reached after a very enjoyable run, and without mishap, a concert was held in the Tea Gardens. An excellent entertainment was provided by Miss Sime (Dunedin). Messrs J. M. Izett, W. Young, A. P. Izett and Jupp Bros. Sir Joseph Ward contributed a song and a “snake” story. A light supper was then served, after which the majority of the party adjourned to the Kilbirnie Hall, where dancing took Dlaee to the music of a string band.
