Commodore, Dr Fell ;vice-commodore, Mr E. C. E. Mills; rear-commodore, Mr W. X. Johnson; committee, Messrs Geo. Mee, E. Bucholz, W. R. Symons, W. Munckton and A. H. Turnbull; liandicapper, Sir W. Munckton; measurers, Messrs Jno. McLean and C. W. Tanner; starter, timekeeper and judge, Mr W. Munckton.

Three events or the programme of th Port Nicholson Yacht Club’s Anniversary Regatta were sailed on Saturday afternoon. The race for naval cutters was postponed, as one of the corps was on duty. There was a whole-sail north-north-west breeze, a little fluky off KoroKoro and Te Aro, and the sea was almost smooth. The weather conditions, in fact, were of the pleasantest possible condition, and in very marked contrast to those on Thursday. The rating race for first-class yachts was won by lorangi, that for second-class yachts by Mahina, and the handicap race for third-class yachts by Karaka. The races were followed for a portion of the courses by the Union Steam Ship Company’s Rotoiti, which had a large number of excursionists aboard. In honour of the regatta, the freezing hulk Prince of Wales was dressed with flags. Through the courtesy of Captain Mayoss, R.N.R., officers of the club were allowed to start and time the races from the steamer Ruapehu. Mr Munckton was assisted in the performance of his duties by Messrs Duncan, F. Halse and Howard. Following are the results of the races:—

Race for first-class yachts, rating; open to yachts of 36 feet and over L.R.; i first prize £ls, second prize a trophy; course, from Queen's Wharf to Pinnacle Rock, to Koro-Koro, and thence back . to starting line. All the yachts that ; were entered took part in the race — : namely. D. Georgeson and Co.’s Wai- i tangi (.sailed by Mr Jamieson), rating j 43.6. scratch; E. C. E. Mills’s Rain- ; bow (sailed by owner and Mr H. Me- ! Cornish), rating 35.4. time allowance ! 4min 49sec: and A. H. Turnbull’s lorangi fsailed by owner), rating 37.5. time allowance smin 47sec. The starting times were as follows:—Waitangi, 2h 30min 23. sec p.m. : Rainbow, 2h 30min • 35sec; lorangi. 2h 30min oOsec. Wai- ! tangi, whose new mainsail was not sot- i ting well, carried no topsail; the others ’ had theirs up. They went out of sight ' around Point Halswell at about 2h i 47min. lorangi was the first to round the buoy off Pinnacle Rock. Just astern of her was Rainbow, and Waitangi was about a minute later. Topsails ! were lowered for the beat to Petotie, 1 on which some pretty work was done. At i lie Koro-Koro buoy Waitangi was leading, with lorangi second. Rainbow was third, and was rather baffled in getting round. On the run home, lorangi, which had some 'lead in, put up a balloon jib. and did better than her opponents. Following were the finishing times:—lorangi. 4h olmin p.m.; Waitangi, 4h 53min 15«ec ;Itainbow. 4h 58min 53sec. The latter had a poor breeze to finish with. The race was therefore won by lorangi without reckoning her time allowance. Waitangi was second with 49sec to spare, reckoning Rainbow’s allowance. Cheers were interchanged when the yachts returned to moorings, and Mr Turnbull was warmly congratulated on his success. Race for second-class yachts, ratingopen to yachts of 30ft and under 36Tt L.R.; first prize £lO, second prize a trophy; course, from Queen’s Wharf to Point Halsweli to Korokoro, and thence back to starting line. All five entrants completed the course. They were:—J. H. O. Schwartz’s Atalanta (sailed by Mr Collins), rating 34.0, scratch ; Johnston and C'o.’s Siren (sailed by Mr Willeston), rating 31.3, time allowance 2min 35sec; Dr Fell’s Mahina (sailed by owner), rating 30, time allowance 4min ; Renner and Co.’s Muritai (sailed by Mr Renner), rating 30, time allowance 4min; John Black’s Jennie Reid (sailed by owner), rating 31.9, time allowance lmin 58see. Following were the starting times:—Siren, 2h 45min 27sec p.m. ; Muritai, 2h 45min 30sec; Jennie Reid, 2h 45min 37sec; Atalanta, 2h 4omin 47sec; Mahina, 2h 46min 17sec. The order at Point Halswell was Siren, Atalanta, Muritai, Mahina and Jennie Reid. At Korokoro it was Mahina, Siren, Atalanta, Muritai and Jennie Reid. The finishing times ■were as follow: Siren, 4h 37min 14seo p.m.; Mahina, 4h 37min losec; Atalanta, 4h 39min 40sec; Muritai, 4h 45min 13scc; Jennie Reid, 4h 49min 33seo. Mahina therefore won on her time allowance by lmin 24sec from Siren, who took second prize. The winning boat sailed well, although her turn-out was not taking to the eye. Race for third-class yachts, handicap; open to fully-decked yachts of 30ft L.R. and under; first prize £5, second prize a trophy. The following started at about 3h lmin p.m.:—S. T. Silver’s Karaka, handicap lOmin; Anderson and Co.’s Mahaki, scratch; Barber Bros.’ Mahuta, handicap 2min. The courso was the same as in the race for second-class yachts. Karaka finished at 5h 34inin 30sec p.m., and Mahuta, which had the worst of a lull off the wharves at the end of the course, crossed the line at 5h 34min 35sec, and secured second place. The finishing time of Mahaki was not taken.
