MOUNT LYELL. MELBOURNE, January 17. The Mount Lyell return from 12th December to Bth January inclusive shows that the quantity of ore treated was 20,837 tons, besides 6620 tons of purchased ore and fluxes, producing 786 tons blister copper, yielding 777 tons of copper, 48,7870 z of silver and 16560 z of gold. GREYMOUTH, January 19. There is a strong run in the river after the rain, and plenty of water for sluieers.
Rocklands Beach dredge obtained 12oz 6dwt amalgam for 59 hours. Tli® Hau Hau Creek dredge obtained 1/oz 6d\vt gold for 87 hours. . The return from the Kolii-kolu dredge is 220 z for 114 hours’ work.
The local director of the Premier (Buller) Gold Dredging Company wires that the return for the week’s dredging is GOoz of amalgam. This is the first steady week’s work the dredge has had.
