The Newtown Club sent two rinks to do battle with Victoria at the latter’s green on Saturday. Victoria —Menelaus, Mayer, Patterson, Schultz (s), 28; Newtown—Crewes, Kinniburgh, Shearer, Mayrick (s), 12. WELLINGTON CLUB. A number of visiting bowlers, who arrived in Wellington on Friday night, took part in a number of scratch matches at the Wellington Bowling Club’s green on Saturday afternoon. A team of Gisborne men beat a Wellington team, and Wellington also went down before an Auckland team.
