The Newtown Club sent two rinks to do battle with Victoria at the latter’s green on Saturday. The following are the scores: — Victoria —Hamerton, Stuart, Townsend, Keith (s), 17; Newtown—Wise, Haworth, Lamb, Powell (s), 14. Victoria —Menelaus, Mayer, Patterson, Schultz (s), 28; Newtown—Crewes, Kinniburgh, Shearer, Mayrick (s), 12. WELLINGTON CLUB. A number of visiting bowlers, who arrived in Wellington on Friday night, took part in a number of scratch matches at the Wellington Bowling Club’s green on Saturday afternoon. A team of Gisborne men beat a Wellington team, and Wellington also went down before an Auckland team.
