THORNDON AMATEUR CLUB.

The third annual meeting of the Thorn* don Swimming Club was held last Wednesday at the Trocadero. There was a fair attendance of members. Mr T. Ronayne (vice-president) occupied the chair The annual report, which was read and adopts ed, stated it was satisfactory to note, as in former years, that the number of mem* bers still keeps up, and that the membership at the close of the was about 300, this number including a large number of youths and boys. * The following officers were elected:— President, Hon. Haywood; captain, Mr J. T. Gray, re elected; vice-captain, ’Mr W. E. Rawson, re.elected; treasurer, Mr J. A. Cl eland, re-elected; handicappers, Messrs A. W. Smith and G. Cloake, reelected; secretary, Mr A. W. Styles, reelected; committee, Messrs D. Joplin, A. M. Samuels, R. G. Stone, A. Wnghton, H. L. Nathan, J. Levmsohn; starter, Mr W. E. Rawson; check starter, Mr A. W. Smith. Messrs R. G. Stone, A. J. Styles and A M Samuels were appointed delegates *to the Wellington Swimming Votes of thanks were passed to the City Council, donors of prizes, to Mr and Mrs Berti, of the Thorndon baths, the club's officers and the Press. A deputation was appointed to wait on the Baths Committee of the City Council with regard to granting family tickets, the erection of turning hoards at each end of the Thorndon baths, and also t® getting more favourable concessions with reference to sports meetings.
