Messrs Denny Brothers, of Dumbarton, the designers and builders* of the Riinutaka, have also in their yards another new steamer for the New Zealand Shipping Company, the Ruapehu, and her keel was laid down alongside the Rimutaka when the latter vessel was well on towards completion. The new Ruapehu, is a little longer and a little finer run than the Rimutaka, and her builders expect to get another knot out of her. The extra speed is to be gained at the expense of her carrying capacity, for although of the same size as the Rimutaka, she will carry over two hundred tons less cargo. The- Ruapehu is expected to sail for the colony, about the middle of the year*
