WAIHI MINE TROUBLE
ACTION BY THE PREMIER. The last phase of the trouble in connection with the dismissal from the service of the Waihi Gold Mining Company of Mr Chas. Molloy, secretary of the union, and four of the union’s executive members, owing to the latter identifying themselves with Conciliation Board proceedings, is that the Premier has wired to Mr Molloy asking him if'he has any objection to a copy of his telegram to the-Government being sent on to the company. Mr Molloy replied that he had no objection. The Government accordingly forwarded the message, which Avas a formal statement of the facts. It has received no reply from the company. When it does so a Cabinet meeting will beheld to consider what steps aro to he taken. The Waihi mine is tyrning exit from £25,000 to v £BO,OOO Avorth of gold monthly. Some five thousand persons are dependent upon the company’s operations in one way on another; .j . , \ -
