WELLINGTON ROWING CLUB. The “Ladies’ Plate” Fours, Wellington Rowing Club, in which 1 eight crews competed, were rowed on Saturday afternoon in smooth water, and resulted as follows : First round-—J. Macdonald beat T. Spencer; G. Spencer beat O. Jones; A. McAlpine beat ‘J. Spencer; W. Shilling beat W. J. Spencer. Second round-—G. Spencer beat J. Macdonald; W. Shilling beat A. McAlpine. Final—K.' Bethune (bow), D. Mowat (2), W. Nidd (3), W. Shilling (stroke,, J. Gosling (cox) won from M. Campbell (bow), H. Juriss (2), E. Wylie (3), G. Spencer (stroke), E. Player (cox) by a length. Messrs G. Player and A. J. Bishop were started and judge respectively. Tbe swimming championship of tbe club, which resulted in a dead-beat at the recent sports, was swum over, when A. McAlpine beat J. Spencer, after a good race.
