To improve the Texture of the Skin.— Cocoanut milk well rubbed into the skin at night after washing improves the texture of some skins Avonderfully. To obtain it, grate a fresh cocoanut, then place it in a. cloth, and squeeze out the milk. Wash, your face Avith it, rubbing it in as much as possible, and Avipe Avith a soft cloth. \

The Feet.—The best treatment for tired' feet is a prolonged nightly 7 foot bath in tepid Avater, to Avliich a good sized lump of ordinary Avashing soda may be added. A handful of bran in the bathing Avater Avill also make a restful foot bath. There should be a frequent change of foot Avear, and the shoes ancl stockings should be changed upon coming in from the street. The feet need a great deal of Aentilation, and for this reason a change of footwear is very adA 7 isable. It is a good practice to keep several pairs of shoes ready for wear. It is a little more expensHe at first, but it is cheaper in the end. The shoes will Avear longer. Wind and sun-burned faces are often very painful. Ease is best secured by protecting the skin from the air. This may be done by 7 an application of Avhite of egg lard, or of carron oil. The last remedy should be found in e\ 7 er.y house, it being im 7 aluable for burns and scalds. It is made of e<-*ual parts of linseed oil ancl lime water shaken together so as to form a cream. Grandmother’s Remedy for Sunburn.— This is old fashioned, but good. Gather. Avhen the sun is on them, loz of white rose leaves, being sure that each leaf is perfect. Steep for two days in 4 a pint of lemon juice and 2 tablespoonfuls of brandy; strain through muslin, keep in a tightly corked bottle, and rub oA 7 er the face night and morning after Avashing. Milk in which cucumber parings or the actual cucumber has been boiled can be used to Avasli the face instead of' Avater, and helps to get rid of the sunburn.

For Freckles. —Tavo parts lemon juice and one part Jamaica rum, Avell shaken together and applied to the face Avith a soft sponge tAvo or three times a day 7, Avill fade freckles so much that tliev Avill be hardly noticeable. Remember, though, that if you expose y r our face to the sun’s glare, the freckles will probably return, so arm yourself with a shady 7 hat and a parasol. There is really no cure for freckles short of removing the skin, Avhieh A\ r ould hardly he a satisfactory 7 method, so take care in time.
