Messrs Lowes and lorns report of their Masterton stock sale as follows : —We had a heavy yarding in sheep of all classes, and taking the whole catalogue of some 6000, they were all round good saleable classes, and met with a ready sale at good sound rates, with a total clearance. In cattle, we had a fair yarding, which included some fair quality beef, which sold at fair rates- In Horos we quitted all with the exception of one line. In mutton, medium wethers ranged from 15s to 15s 3d; ewes, 11s 6d to 11s lOd; forward ewes, 10s to 11s; forward wethers,. 14s 9d; stores, 12s 6d to 13s; in breeding ewes, good sound sorts made from: 10s to 12s 6d; fair class ewes, 9s to 9s 6d ; culls, 7s 8d; 2-tooth eweS, good, llssfid, others 10a 3d; in lambs, best ranged from 9s 6d to 9s 7d, others 8s to 8s 9d; ’ poor, 7s; culls, 5s 6d; beef cows, ’ light, £4 10s to £5; bullocks, £7; steers, ,£5 ss; 18 months, 70s; yearlings, 40s to 455; best calves, 35s to 40s, others 25s to 30s; 2year heifers, 60s to 70s. JOHNSONVILLE, February 19. Messrs Freeman R. Jackson and Co., in conjunction with Messrs Abraham and Williams, report on their Johnsonville stock/ sale : Fat cattle were rather below requirements, and sold briskly throughout. The bu,lk of the entry Was represented Jby small steers of handy size and weight, which were at relatively higher rates than the larger sorts, price £7 15s to £9 12s 6d. Ox beef made 22s the 1001 b.
