Recently the Conference of Chambers of Commerce recommended that there should be a federation of the Chambers of Commerce of New Zealand, with headquarters in Wellington. To give effect to this proposal, the secretary of the local Chamber has issued, circulars to all Chambers of Commerce in the colony apprising them of the decision, and stating that the memorandum and articles cf. association are in course of preparation, and copies will be forwarded as soon as possible for consideration. The idea, i*s that there should be a permanent executive in Wellington, the chairman of which should be the president of the Wellington Chamber for the time being, and the secretary of the Federated Chamber and of the Executive Committee should be the secretary of the Wellington Chamber.
