OUR LATE QUEEN.

The Maharajah of Kashmir has contributed fifteen lakh.s of rupees to the fund, the Maharajah of Jeypore five lakhs, the Maharajahs of Gwalior and Mysore each four lakhs,, toe Bengal Jute Mills ninety thousand rupees, the Nawab of Dacca fifty thousand, the Maharajah of Kazirnbozar twenty-nve thousand, the coal companies fourteen thousand, Lord Lurzon ten thousand. The Maharajah of Jeypore has aiso contributed an extra four lakhs to the Indian Famine Fund. Remarkable loyal gatherings are oeinrr held throughout India. A meeting of fifty thousand persons of ail races and creeds at Colombo adopted resolutions of condolence with the Royal Family. . Monsignor John Vaugnan, m a letter to "The~Times,” says it is unreasonable for Catholics to complain about masses not being offered fer Queen Victoria, who, upon her accession to the throne, remarked that mass was superstitious and idolatrous. . The sarcophagus at Frogmore has been re-sealed. A recumbent marble figure u the late Queen, which was carved and preserved at Windsor for the last twen-ty-five years, has been placed on toe lid.

At an influential meeting held in the Town Hall, it was decided to establish a maternity home as a memorial of the late Queen. Some handsome donations were made.
