LAND BOARD
The Board met on the 31st. Present — Messrs J. W. A. Mar chant (chairman),A. W. Hogg, J. Stevens and A. Reese. The Board placed on record its regret at the death of the Queen. The following transfers were acceded ; t o Aj\\ r . Campbell and J. O’Brien to Wm. Campbell, section 2, block 1, Mangahao ; R. Dyer to J. Bowie, section 12, block o,'Mount Cerberus; Public Trustee in estate of B. Shannon to J. Rankin, soption 31, block 12, Apiti; J. Fraser to D. McCracken, section 2, block Id. Olunswairua; A. Avery to D. G Doull, section 2 of lot 1, Tutaelcara Village Settlement: A. Broadbelt to H. McLean, section 17, block 8, Makotuku; G. Churcher to 11. 11. Elliott, section 33, block 4, . Umuturoa ; J. Lings to F. M. Dicker.;", section 15, Rakaunui Village Settlement; T. Quillinan to Julia Caldwell, sections 11 and 12, block 5, Tiriraukawa ; G. F. Nelson to C. Thomson, section H, block 10, Mount Cerberus; P. Farelly to C.‘ F., G. and R. Gregory, section 3a, block’ 11, Mangahao; M. Lickfold to J. Kerr, section 12, block 4, Puketoi; C. Natzko' to A. Grigg and J. H. Carter, section 19, block 9, Hautapu; W, Nicholls to C. J., L. and H. J. Canton, section 5,' block 3, Tiriraukawa It was resolved to approve the advance on Sir J. L. Wildbore’s section 21 block 14, Oroua, Aorangi Settlement, being repaid in ten years; and on Mr A. J. Whit elands section 12, block 2, Kairanga, in five years. A letter was received from the Undersecretary of Crown Lands witn reference to the increase in the size of holdings in the Mangatain'oka Village Settlement, and it was resolved that the Board should, visit Pahiatua and Mangatainoka and: meet the settlers —giving them notice beforehand —in order that they may make any representations they consider proper with reference to the proposed amalgamation of their holdings, or any. other matters they wish to bring before the Beard. The Board will visit Pahiatua on Thursday, February 14th. It was resolved to re-offer section 18, block 11, Aohanga, for disposal under: the Land Act, 1892, at £1 per acre,, weighted with £Bl 10s for improvements. It was resolved to allot section 6, block 7, Mount Cerberus, to Mr Weeds, lessee of the adjoining section. It was resolved not to offer sections 11 and 19, block 1-5, Manganui, for selection until it has been decided what is to be done with the milling areas c-u the main trunk line.
