SETTLERS MISERABLE LIFE.

Notwithstanding the hardships which all settler's have to face, the extreme misery which, until recently, marked the life of a Mr W. R. Taylor—a Lyttelton settler made an interview with him most instructive. To a reporter . when called upon him at his residence in St. David’s street, be said : - ; T r-~ “I am fifty-six years of age, and came out fifty years age in the “Charlotte Jane,” from Norwich. After travelling for some years in Australia, I settled here. But the hard living and indifferent food* told upon me, and I became subject to chronic indigestion. The symptoms (were pain an the stomach, fulness after meals, flatulency, heartburn and extreme weakness. -On several occasions I received medical treatment, but without permanently good effect. My life was made miserable, and for days together I partially starved myself rather than take a full meal and face the consequences. As my daughter recommended Dr Williams’ pink pills, I began taking ° them. After a few doses I felt a little benefited, and one box made great improvement. Four boxes cured me. My health now is splendid, I can eat almost anything, and am quite strong and active.” Miss Taylor, when questioned, said : —“I was pale, thin and anaemic for four years. I tried.many tonics, but they were ineffectual. Dr Williams' pink pills for pale people restored me to health and strength.” - By enriching the blood and enabling'it to absorb and make use of the nourishment in the food, Dr Williams’ pink pills remove anaemia and the cause of indigestion. These pills are praised by all classes for the way they have cured, paralysis, locomotor ataxia, rheumatism, sciatica, debility, neuralgia, rickets, skin diseases, ladies’ ailments, etc. by chemists and storekeepers and by the Dr Williams’ Medicine Co., Wellington, three shillings per box, six boxes sixteen and six, post free.
