The year 1899 closed Avith a credit- balance to the Dunedin Harbour Board of £69B9,and after providing for all charges, including heavy expenditure on dredging,-, increased wharf and shed accommodation, road formation and other works, the year 1900 has closed Avith the sub-t stantial credit balance of £13,639. The ordinary revenue for the year Avas £72,274, an increase over the preceding year of £3772, and the ordinary expep- 1 diture has been. £65,639,. an increase of £2385. During the year, however, there had been an exceptional expenditure of. £5,392 for newt works, including additions to wharves and sheds, aftdkstreet' -V formation. A reduction ; whs made irf the export dues on certain classes of goods, involving an apparent reduction in revenue of about £6OO in six montifcie.
