BRITAIN AND GERMANY
ANGER IN RUSSIA.
LONDON, January 30. The Russian newspapers angrily comment- on the character of the AngloGerman alliance, which, they’ assert, threatens injury to Russia.
French newspapers ascribe the AngloGerman entente to the German Emperor’s need of British support until the completion of his navy. In conferring the Order of the Garter on, the Grown Prince of Germany, King Edward said he hoped it would 1 further cement and strengthen the friendly feel* ing existing between Germany and Great Britain, so that they might be enabled to go hand in band to promote the civilisation and peace of the world. He also thanked the German Emperor for coming to England at a moment’s notice to assist, tend and watch over the late Queen.
