Under an arrangement entered into between Dr J. S. Purdy (Surgeon-Cap-tain Sixth Contingent) and Mr W. B. lon behalf of the St. John Ambulance Association Committee) a number of the men on board the troopship Cornwall are to be instructed in “first aid to the injured” while on the voyage to South Africa. The subsequent examination will probably be conducted by Dr Skerman, and the St. John Ambulance Committee in Wellington wifi, issue certificates to successful candidates.
