Visiting horses have put in an appearance earlier than usual in consequence of several teams touring the meetings hold last month in this Island and Westland. The stable accommodation at the Hutt is fully engaged. Mr G. W. Banks’s Randwick Lodge, alongside the race, course, shelters Oadet, Hypnotist and Cameo inL charge of Free Holmes; and First Blood, in charge of P. Carey. •Stuart Waddelll has booked six boxes for the Lion J. D. Ormond ; s lot. The Porirua team consists of eight horses, and W. Homes is bringing; three. The last three lots have yefc to arrive. The Dunedin trainers, H. Goodman and W. Crossan, are quartered at Ivilxmnster’s. Mr Stead’s team and Jackson’s pair (Blazer and Battler) are at McNah’s Gardens, where half a'dozen boxes have been engaged for E. Cutts. Red Gauntlet and Canteen arrived from Dunedin yesterday. D. Chapman has put up at P. Casey’s hotel with three of Mr Paul’s horses. The course proper was open on Monday morning for fast work, when several trainer's availed themselves of it. Yesterday morning First Blood (O’Brien) and Magnificent (Price) did a good gallop over a mile, the latter spearing to have the best or it. ’ V WELLINGTON TROTTING CLUB. Hotu is doing satisfactory work at the Hutt, and will take beating in anything he starts in. F. Higgott also journeys up with Lady Agnes. F. Kingan will make his re-appearance at Foxton, where he will ride Rata and other horses. A coach will meet the Manawatu train at Shannon on Monday and Tuesday next, and" convey visitors to Foxton in time for the first race. The conveyance will also meet the down train at Shannon each evening.
