THE MINING COLLAPSE.
LONDON, January 10. The Marquis of Dufferin presided at the meeting of the .shareholders of the London and Globe Finance Corporation to consider the directors’ circular advising voluntary liquidation. Mr Wright, majiaging director, explained that in order to obtain control of the Lake View Consols shares he negotiated a loan of a half a million till 31st March, and gave as security forty thousand Lake View Consols shares and other securities. These the lenders of the money sold on the same ,and following days. He personally advanced a quarter of a million to endeavour to avert the crisis.
