SEND-OFF AT LYTTELTON.

CHRISTCHURCH, Tuesday. The Lyttelton Demonstration Committee had an interview with Colonel Teuton to-day in reference to the proceedings at the port on Saturday. It is understood that the arrangements will probably lie as follows: —The contingent will arrive at Lyttelton by train at about 1 p.m., and will proceed at once to the Drillshed for luncheon. After luncheon the men will be allowed an hour in which to bid farewell to their friemis. At 3 p.m. the local and visiting volunteers will form up outside the Drillshed raid march, preceding the contingent, to SNo. 7 wharf, v. here tlie contingent w til i&Sfhbark cu the Knight Templar. ivperson will be permitted to remain on the wharf but- the military ami tln.se taking part in the official farewell ceremony. The steamer will leave the wharf at 5 p.m. sharp. Replies accepting invitations to be present at the “send-off” to the contingent have been received from the Mayors of the following places:—Hokitika, Onslow, YYollington, Tiraaru, Rangiora, Napier, Mtlrose and YYoodville. The contingent will be drawn up in Hagley Park at 10.30 a.m., and addresses will be given by the Premier, the Mayor of Christchurch and Bishop Julius, while Bishop Grimes will offer up prayer. The TJniou Company has promised to have several steamers in port, and these will leave the wharves at 4 p.m.. and accompany the troop ship to the heads.
