DISASTROUS EXPLOSION
DURBAN, January 30. A refugee from Johannesburg, who lias arrived here, reports that a great shell factory which the Boers had established at Johannesburg was wrecked by an explosion on the 20th inst. ' The building was that originally occupied by Messrs 'Thomas Begbie and Co., proprietors or the Vulcan Foundry and Ironworks The catastrophe was attended with loss of life. The destruction of the factory will imperil the supply of shells to the enemy.
