FIRE AT KIAMA
FIFTEEN BUILDINGS DESTROYE© FORTUNATE CHANGE OF WIND. SYDNEY, Sunday. A fire at Kiama. on the south coast, destroyed fitteen wooden business premises in the main street. There was a gale blowing when the fire began, and in the absence of any brigade the outlook was most serious. By good fortune, however, the wind changed. This circumstance and the razing of some intervening buildings, enabled the fire to be checked and prevented from extending to portions of the town which had otherwise been doomed.
