The Government steamer Tutanebai returned from a trip to the north own lighthouses on Saturday afternoon, and left • late the same night for Onehunga to bring liis Excellency Lcrd 1 Ranfwrly and suite to Wellington. Air E. G. Jellicoe announces that he will be a candidate for the suffrages of the electors of Wellington at the forthcoming general election. A number of thefts of shrubs and flowers from gardens in Tinakori road have recently been reported to the police, who are taking active steps to put a stop to the depredations.
