Mrs W. Nicholson, of Palmerston North, has just received pleasing intelligence in reference to her two cousins, Misses Frances and Ethel Le Marchant, who proceeded to England a few yeais ago to study music. Miss Frances has earned great distinction as a pianoforte player, and at the examinations held by the Royal Academy of Music in December last, she was one of nineteen who obtained the L.R.A.M. degree. Miss Ethel Le Marchant, as a vocalist, has also won fame. Both ladies were former residents of Wellington, and received their first lessons in music from Mrs Nicholson.
