It is high time that a stop was put to the reprehensible practice followed by a number of persons of depositing refuse upon the vacant ground below the Terrace School. The place in question seems to be made a repository for all manner of garbage, and as die children are in the Ijahit of playing in the immediate vicinity, the effect on their health can hardly he beneficial. In fact, two of the ' scholars are down with typhoid, and a member of the school ’committee does not hesitate to express the opinion that their illness may possibly be attributable to the presence of this rubbish. Whoever is supposed to attend to such matters ought to exercise a little more vigilar.ee in the health interests of the community.
