NEW USE OF THE TELEPHONE.
An incident happened at Gallatin, Tenn., after the recent storm which initiates a new use for the telephone. J. T. Dunham, attorney, had an appointment to try a lawsuit at Castilian Springs, but the weather was so cold and the snow so deep that he would not make the trip, but remained at home and employed the telephone, through which he conducted the uit.. Through his instructions the witnesses were examined, and after all the evidence was in Mr Dunham made his argument to the Court over the ’phone. A was quickly rendered in his favour.—‘New York Times.”
