Opportunity was taken at the conclusion of the Orchestral Society’s concert at the Opera House by Mr William Gill on behalf of the society to formally bid good-bye to Mr W. F. Parsons, who has been associated with that body since its inception. Messrs E. W. Mills, O. Schwartz and Maughan Barnett also made short speeches alluding to the valuable services of Mr Parsons to the musicloving community during the period of his residence in Wellington, and referring particularly to the good work done by him for the Orchestral Society. Mr Parsons thanked the members for their very cordial expressions of regard towards both himself and his family, whom he is about to join.
