NORTHERN GOLDMINING RETURNS.
AUCKLAND, Thursday. The output of gold for the month of May is satisfactory. The yields from the Waitekauri and the Waihi-Silvertoii Companies did not arrive in time to be included. In spite of this the Ohinemuri mines returned £38,565 9s 3d. The output from the Coromandel mines shows a falling-off this month. The Thames mines, on the other hand, have given an increased yield. The yield of the Ohinemuri mines represents £39,419 in gold. The Eomata Reefs Company crushed 300 tons for a return of £BSO. The Tokotea crushed seventeen tons, which produced £lO3. The Hauraki Associated obtained £250 from ten tons; the Waiotalii £335 from eighty tons; the Waitekauri Extended, £1125 from 940 tons; the Mariposa, £231 from 178 tons. Air Charles R. rollen lias been promoted to the position of chief draughtsman in the Department of Lands and Survey at Blenheim.
