The half-yearly meeting of the North, Inland Executive of the Grand Lodge of the U.A.O.D. was held at FalmeratonNorth on Friday, There were present—BrcsT J. Purnell, D.G.P. (Wanganni), A. B. Thompson, D.G.V.P. (Blenheim), J. A. MoKenn»,lU;G. (Patea), E. Fletcher, D.G.T. (Wellington), S. Maokay. D.G.S. (Wellington), and G. Snaddon, P.D.G.P. The balanoo-aheet (says the "Standard") showed a satisfactory condition of affairs, nearly J 6300 havng been added bersbip also showed a satisfactory increase. The action between the O.G. Lodge and the Grand Lodge of Victoria was discussed. The opinion of the Attorney-General of Victoria was read, and it was decided that Messrs Menteath and Beero, the D G. Lodge solicitors, be instructed to prepare a case for the opinion of Mr Webster, Q'C , of Melbourne. A scheme was alto adopted and ordered to bo recommended to the DG. Lodge at its next meeting for the relief of members who are unable to pay their subscriptions. Various amendments to the constitutional laws wore ordered to be brought before the D.&. Lodge at its next meeting, which will he held at Auckland in February, 1899. In the evening the Grand Lodge officers were entertained at a,' 1 social" by the Oroua ' - A new typewriter has. been perfected for the benefit of blind people. Communications made by this machine can bo read alike by the blind and tho?e who are blaaaed with sight.
