The 8 o’clock celebration at St. Paul’s proCathedral on Sunday morning was taken by the Rev T. H. Sprot\ who also conducted the celebration at 11 o’clock, assisted by the Kev E. Tuckey, the incumbent’s sermon being based on the 91st Psalm. At tho evening service the JRev W. C. Waters, incumbent of St. Peter’s, preached from Ephesians, i., 9. The anthem was Garrett’s “ In Humble Faith, Mr Kobert Parker presiding at the organ. At the Church of Christ Sunday night, Mr Turner delivered an address on “ Dancing,” and dealt specially with tho subject in its relation to church members. _ The speaker coulOlidtd that it was an evil fraught with ruinous consequences, to our Young and rising generation, and baviug tieaH with the arguments usually advanced

in its favour, showed that no warrant could be drawn from the Bible for this pastime as carried on at the present day. The Rev F. H. Spencer announced on Sunday that he had taken a room in Brandon street, in which he would hold fortnightly meetings in connection with foreign missions, beginning on Thursday, July 29th, and that iu the future the evening offertory on the last Sunday in the month would be devoted to the cause of foreign missions. The total amount of subscriptions in aid of the Cathedral up to date is £4197, of which £3123 3s 8d has been paid in. The rents oa the three houses on the site amount to £132 per annum. A further sum of £IOOO is necessary to obviate the possibility of having to pay any part, of the interest to the vendors of the site. It was decided to print and circulate an appeal to subscribers for contributions. The committee desire it to be known that the Cathedral i 3 to be a free church,open to anyone who may wish to attend.
