THE CORPORATION ESTIMATES.

A meeting of the Public Works Committee of the City Council Avas held last Monday for the purpose of discussing the estimates for the year. Present —Councillors .Fraser (in the chair), Anderson, Myers, Lindsay, Harcourt, Higginbottom,' McGill and Barber. The debate on the subject Avas interrupted by the arrival of a message announcing the death of the Mayor's son, and the Council adjourned. The estimates were conveyed in a memorandum from the City Surveyor to the Town Clerk in the folloiving terms : ALLOCATION OF EXPENDITURE.
