At the City Council meeting last week the Mayor stated that he had been unable to arrange for a supply of g ram to for metal, mg purposes, the prices required being too high. He intimated, however, that there wai a o-ranite island near Motueka, which bad ooen mentioned by Sir James Hector recently, and arrangements might he made for the Cou icil to ob'ain a supply from there.
