N.Z. KENNEL CLUB.
Tho New Zealand Kennel Club mot at the Trocadero on Monday, Mr W. H. S. Moorhouse presiding. A complaint was received from tlio Manawatu Agricultural and Pastoral Association, affiliated to tho Kennel Club, in regard to tho conduct of an exhibitor at their last show, when he was apparently dissatisfied with tho judging. It was decided to ask the exhibitor to write expressing regret at the incident. A letter was read in reference to a matter arising out of tho Wellington Agricultural and Pastoral show re a nudge having a dog consigned to him at the railway station which was to be exhibited before him next day. The judge in quostio:i wrote stating tho facts and tho peculiar position in which he was placed. No action was taken, tho correspondence boing received. Suggested regulations for tho conduct of dog shows were next oonsidored, including some amendments from the Auckland Club. The rules as printed wero adopted. On the motion of Mr H. A. Bligb, it was decided to write to kennel clubs in the Australian colonies with a view to ascertaining their opinion as to toe advisability of importing a first-class Enelish judge for all shows in every colony, and encpiiring what proportion of the expense involved they would be prepared to contribute. Among other matters incidentally discussed was the probability of a great Federal Dog Show being held in Sydney or Melbourne, at which New Zealand dogs would likely compete; and the advisableness of having a competent veterinary surgeon at every show. It was decided that the winner of three championships should be given the title of champion.
Dr Thomas, of Timaru, who returned to the Colony by the Kimutaka last week, brought out with him two highly-bred Dachshunds—a dog and a bitch. These are said to be the first of their kind importad into this Colony.
