The establishment of a Farmers' and Country Settlers' Exchange is talked of in Tanterbury.
Amongst the " Births "in recent issue of the London Times was one to which was added in small type : " This notice was inserted among the ' Deaths ' of our issue of October 5." It reminds the St. James' Gazetto of the story of the old high-flying days of journalistic infallibility. An indignant man presented himself at the office of a journal which bad that morning announced bis death. He demanded a correction of the demonstrably false report; but the manager in charge was firm: "Very sorry, sir, it's quite impossible. The never admits contradictions of its news; it is against our rule. But I tell you what we'll do ; we'll put you among the ' Births ' to-morrow, and give you a fresh start."
