At 5 o'clock the visitors flocked to the cycling track, where three races were got off in the short space of half an hour. Although the entries wero numerous the wind prevented any fast times being made, and deterred many ot the entrants from starting. For the first five laps Hunt was a lap behind, with Young last but one, and Barker next to him, Wakeman keeping the lead until the tenth round with second. Barker then slowed down and paced Hunt for three or four rounds, all the others being half a lap in front.
