RICH FIND ON THE WEST COAST. Reefton, November 11. A remarkably rich boulder of quartz was found this morning on the Sir Francis Drake Company’s lease, situated between Scotia and the old Sir F. Drake Company’s ground. Gold is plainly visible in every piece of quartz broken off. Auckland, November 11. The yield from tbe New Zealand Crown Mine Company, Karangahake, during four weeks, was 1100 tons ore treated, for the yield of IGOOoz bullion, valued at .£2885. Auckland, November 12. Mr Bruce Lloyd, representing the Union Ironworks of San Francisco, has arranged with the Talisman Company to erect at the Karangahaki mine an additional ten-stamper of tbe latest design, being a double mortar discharge. In addition to this, six cyanide vats are to be constructed. Mr Lloyd is also to erect a revolving cre-driver. This will bring the crushing power at this mine up to 20 head, and, as the new stampers will be 10001 b weight each, a large quantity of ore should be put through monthly. The stamper battery supjDlied by the Union Ironworks, of San Francisco, to the order of Seaver Bros., for the Waitekauri Extended Company, is complete, the stamps being 10001 b weight each. The whole plant is of the latest design, including a doubledischarge process. Mr Bruce Lloyd, who represents the Union Ironworks at the Thames, estimates that this 40-stamper battery should be capable of treating ICO tons of ore per day. The speed with which machinery may bo supplied from America is shown by the fact that this plant was shipped within eight weeks from the date of the signing of the contract. Auckland, November 18. The Hauraki return for the month is 2u770z 19dwt gold, valued at .£8231. Greyjiouth, November 16.
