Morrin’s Day Star (Gallagher) 0 Defiance immediately drew out, with Uniform and Epaulet next, but the last-named went onlsocond in the first hundred yards, and the order passing Cutts' was —Defiance, Epaulet, Uniform and Plotter with Day Star last. As they ran down the back stretch Defiance, pulling hard, was stillleadingfrom Epaulet, while Day Star had dropped further away, and this order was unaltered. Passing the kennels, and, until they commenced to go round the top turn, Epaulet joined Defiance, and was slightly in front of him as they landed in the straight, while Uniform and Plotter had closed up. Below the distance the whip was drawn on Defiance, and Uniform and Plotter passing him they were on even terms. At the distance Epaulet swerved out, carrying Uniform and Plotter with him, and Uniform got the best of his opponents and won by a long neck from Plotter, with Epaulet a length and a half away third, reliance, some distance further off, fourth, and Day Star, pulling up, last. At a meeting of the Facing Conference tonight, a deputation from the Bookmakers Association asked that book.ma.kera, o c licensed by the Conference, should be allowed on the metropolitan courses. It was resolvod after a long discussion that tho Conference could not see its way to accede to th. 3 request.

Melbourne, November 13. It is estimated that when accounts are finally adjusted the profits of the late V.R.C. Meeting will bo nearer £BOOO than £9OOO. Last year the profit was only £948.
