The stewards reserve the right to re-handi-cap the winners ol races after the handicaps have been declared. No entry will be received after the hour named on any pretence whatever. Any jockey riding except in colours shall be fined two sovs. The amount for second and third horse shall bo deducted from the advertised amount of stakes. Horses walking over will receive 50 per cent, of the stakes. DEFINITION OF A HACK. A hack is a horse that has never won an advertised race at any time, hack or hunter races excepted, and is not or has not been nominated in any race other than hack races at the same meeting. Telephone oflieo closes at Martinborough 5 p.m. RULES AND REGULATIONS. All races will lie run under the Rules of Racing as adopted by the Wellington Metropolitan Club. No qualification fee. The saddling bell will ring at 11.30 a.in. 'The first race will start at 12 noon sharp. Each race will start punctually at the time appearing in the correct card of the races. No scratching of horses allowed except through the Secretary, and not later than 30 minutes before the lime of starting. All nominations and entries to bo made in writing, sealed, and addressed to the secretary ; entrance money to be enclosed, with sex, name, age, pc Agree and previous performances of horses, name of the owner, and colours of the rider.
