GODFREY'S VAUDEVILLE COMPANY.

The good impression made by Mr Charles Godfrey and his talented company when on their first visit here a short time ago was maintained last week, when they made their re-appearance in the Exchange Hall before a large and enthusiastic audience. Mr Godfrey's contributions were enthusiastically applauded. Mr J. C. Bain was very happy in his character songs, and Miss Galletely in her famous toe dance was the recipient of an encore. Miss Ada Baker was in excellent voice, her contributions being encored. The other members of the company were highly successful in their parts, and altogether a most enjoyable programme was presented. A feature of the programme was an exhibition of Messrs Haussman and Gow's Kinematograph. Tho pictures were very fine, and apparently so full of life and motion that one was led to forget that they were only pictures. Among the pictures shown was a railway station, with an express train rushing in and pulling up at the platform, then crowds of passengers carrying bags and rugs, porters taking parcels of all sorts, rushing hither and thither, carriage doors opening and shutting, and in general the great bustle and confusion which one sees at such a place in tho Homo countries. Then there was a bathing scene, in which a couple of men, in bathing costumo, disport themselves among the breakers, while the waves are soen to roll in and break quite naturally on the sandy beach. In another the audience saw the children leaving school, some hurrying away, others loitering, as boys will ; a sharp whistlo is heard, and a boy turns round quickly. These are only a few of tho many shown, all of which were excellent. The machine used was one of Edison's latest, and has been imported within the last few weeks direct from the great inventor's factory.
